Playing a mage can be difficult and expensive, while playing a thief can be cheap and easy. NOTE: New players (particularly ones who want to play the Mage, Acolyte class) should build a character that will help financially (Thief, Merchant) before transitioning into their main class. It is recommended for AGI builds to avoid maps with aggressive monsters. AGI oriented builds focus on faster ASPD for meleeing monsters, and relies on some degree of FLEE to avoid getting damaged altogether. Newer players often choose an AGI oriented build for leveling (does not apply to Mages of course), as it is more potion-friendly and uses less funds and supplies in general. As the character gains job levels to acquire skills with, they can start to utilize new skills for more efficient combat and overall damage. Some are repeatable, while others are one time only. Some regular quests also provide EXP reward. These quests normally require a party to complete with, and often other players will be recruiting for anyone to join their party. You can also acquire valuable items and useful equipment. Quests are an alternative to pure grinding, or are complementary to monster kills by giving extra EXP reward to a set of monster kills. Tip: You can kill two birds with one stone by collecting merit badges from bounty boards for monsters that drop items needed for potion creation. Look for these wanted items by visiting the Shopping Board of Prontera to search for buyers of specific items such as red herbs, stems, or maneater blossoms. Many other items are sought after by players. Players can also level while farming items used for Potion Creation or Create Deadly Poison. See the Eden Merit Badge and Bounty Board Quest. Quest and bounty boards are a good way to do this. New players might want to focus on building their financial power before building their DPS.
